Cyber Resilience for Not-for-Profit Regional Groups

Session 1

Cybercrime is changing rapidly, and small businesses are increasingly being targeted by scams, phishing attacks, invoice fraud and AI-powered cybercrime.

For regional not-for-profit groups, a cyber incident can disrupt operations, impact finances and consume valuable time that could be spent running the business.

This practical and engaging workshop will help participants understand the cyber risks facing Australian businesses today and how artificial intelligence is changing the threat landscape. Through real-world examples and case studies, attendees will learn how cyber criminals are targeting businesses and the simple steps they can take to reduce risk.

No technical knowledge is required. The session has been designed specifically for regional not-for-profit groups and focuses on practical advice that can be applied immediately.

Cyber Resilience Health Check: Turning Awareness into Action

Session 2

Knowing about cyber risks is one thing. Knowing what to do about them is another.

This hands-on workshop is designed specifically for regional businesses that want practical guidance on improving their cyber resilience without needing technical expertise or a large budget.

Participants will be guided through a simple Cyber Resilience Health Check that will help them understand what they are already doing well, identify areas for improvement and prioritise the actions that will have the biggest impact on protecting their business.

Rather than focusing on technical jargon, this workshop focuses on practical business decisions, helping participants build a realistic action plan that they can implement when they return to their workplace.

Each participant will receive a Cyber Resilience Self-Assessment Checklist and access to a video guide that can be used after the workshop to continue strengthening their business over time.

By attending this session, participants will:

• Understand the key cyber responsibilities of business owners and decision makers
• Learn simple ways to improve the security of their business
• Identify the most important actions to focus on first
• Complete a Cyber Resilience Health Check for their organisation
• Develop a practical action plan tailored to their business

Recognising the gap between technical expertise and practical guidance, Caitriona pursued a Masters degree in cybersecurity to deepen her knowledge and better serve her clients. Armed with a wealth of experience and a commitment to making cybersecurity relatable, Caitriona founded caIT with a simple mission: to empower organisations to navigate the digital world with confidence.
