Established January 2003, the Australian Sandalwood Network (ASN) is an active growers group dedicated towards developing the Australian Sandalwood (_Santalum spicatum_) plantation industry across Australia. Primarily our focus is to support private sandalwood growers and drive the plantation industry forward.

The ASN is a panel member of the National Fight Food Waste Project directed at utilising the WA Sandalwood nut kernel for therapeutic and cosmetic applications.

The ASN has successful assisted over 200 individual growers with essential information and the practical skills and contacts to see the successful establishment of the current lucrative WA sandalwood plantation industry based in the WA Wheatbelt.

This achievement has financially assisted growers through revenue gained from wood and nut sales. The environment has also been enriched by the establishment of our native sandalwood and associated host plants on once cleared land, this has also assisted with addressing salinity and soil erosion in some areas.
