South-West WA Primary Industries & Farming Systems – Situation Analysis
Are you an experienced consultant, used to working with a diverse range of stakeholders to make a real, practical difference? The Grower Group Alliance (GGA) GGA wishes to engage a consultant or number of consultants with suitable knowledge of agricultural and horticultural industries in Western Australia.
What’s important is your knowledge of production systems, farm business structures, market dynamics and grower group networks; as well as the scientific and analytical skills to develop a framework for future farming systems research and innovation in the context of a drying, warming climate.
There are a number of regions in Western Australia that we need to focus on:
- The Grainbelt
- High rainfall South-West
- Mid-West and Gascoyne horticultural zones
- Southern Rangelands
Deliverables
You will work closely with the GGA Drought Adoption and Innovation Hub team to undertake a stocktake of recent drought related research, Innovation and Extension initiatives. This knowledge will enable you to provide new insights into sustainability and growth opportunities, taking a short, medium and long-term view.
Background Information
The Grower Group Alliance (GGA) was established in 2002 to develop stronger connections between Western Australian grower groups, researchers, funding bodies and industry. Today GGA is a thriving state-wide network of over 60 local grower groups with a collective membership exceeding 4,000 farm enterprises.
