South West NRM – Community Resilience Network – Workshop 1 – The Social Impacts of Drought

February 23 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

The first of six workshops planned for 2024 to build community resilience to drought. The online workshop will be hosted at six locations across the South West (see below) and will feature:

– A presentation on the Social Impacts of Drought by Dr Leanne Lester from UWA.

– Group discussion to identify actions to build community resilience to drought or other impacts.

– Sharing ideas between groups.

The workshop will be held at Community Resource Centres (CRCs) in: Boyup Brook, Bridgetown, Donnybrook, Harvey and Manjimup. A workshop will also be held in Capel (location to be confirmed). Attendance at these locations is preferred, but if not possible, a meeting link will be sent.

The workshops are part the Community Resilience Network, which is one of five “Surviving the Dry” projects in the South West.

This project is supported by FRRR, through funding from the Australian Government’s Future Drought Fund. More information here.

Participants are encouraged to meet at one of six locations that will host the online meeting. These include the following Community Resource Centres (CRCs): Boyup Brook, Bridgetown, Donnybrook, Harvey, and Manjimup. A sixth location will be in the Shire of Capel (TBC). If unable to attend a meeting place, a link will be sent to join the meeting.
