Lift Off ’24 – 2 Day Training Retreat

Lift Off’ is a new two-day training retreat exclusive to the Grower Group Alliance network, building capacity and connections for the year ahead.

Date & Venue

To be held at Joondalup Resort on February 16 and 17, 2023.

Format

The event is intended for in person, face-to-face attendance. Part or full participation in all of the program sessions is available.

*Zoom in (basic AV ) for some sessions may be possible on request but in person attendance is preferred.

Content

  • Operational discussion sessions with GGA, GRDC, MLA and DPIRD executives
  • Workshops with training on priority topics identified in the GGA survey
  • Access to GGA team members for private appointments
  • Networking time to build relationships between GGA network groups

Who can attend

Participation is closed to the GGA network, exclusive to members only.

  • All employed staff, and operational volunteers involved with running groups are warmly welcomed and will benefit from attending.
  • Chairs of groups are especially encouraged to attend in the GGA, GRDC, MLA and DPIRD (workforce) sessions

Cost

Attend for just a few elements or the whole two days.

Tickets are subsidised by GGA and start from $60 for a day delegate to $410 for full two-night, two-day participation with a private room or twin share accommodation. Options shown when you click through ticketing.

Program

Day 1 – Thursday Feb 16th

Arrivals –9.00am – 9.30am

Workshop 1 – Meet the Network – 9.30am – 11.00am / Around the room formal introduction from each group. Hear about their groups scope, activities and what/how their members produce.

Break

Workshop 2 – Stakeholder Mapping (Part 1) – 11.30am – 12.30am / Facilitated session updating your groups stakeholder map. This will assist you with a communications and engagement plan, managing important relationships and general strategic partnerships.

Lunch – 12.30pm – 1.30pm

Workshop 3 Meet the GGA team – 1.30pm – 2.30pm / Meet our team members. Hear about the teams expanded scope, capability and how to benefit.

Break

Workshop 4 – Working with GGA – 3.00pm – 4.00pm / Facilitated two-way feedback session to achieve improved alignment between GGA members and collaborating project partners.
*Good session for Chairs to attend.

Checkin to rooms – 4.00pm – 4.30pm /

Poolside Sundowner – 4.30pm – 6.30pm / Relax and unwind poolside! GGA staff will be around providing a great opportunity to get to know the team further as well as enjoying more networking time with fellow groups. There is time to cool off with a swim or hold a private appointment with particular staff (book here). *Good session for Chairs to attend.

Briefing – WA Jobs, Education and Training (WAJET) project – 5.00pm-5.15pm / Hear about the WA Jobs, Education and Training (WAJET) project which aims to collate industry intelligence on the skills needs in WA so that DPIRD and other agencies can provide a training or workforce response to assist industry meet its needs.

Break – change for dinner – 6.30pm – 7.00pm

Networking Dinner – 7.00pm – 9.30pm / End the day over a sit down meal with delegates with further opportunity for networking. *All beverages at own expense

Day 2 – Friday 17 Feb

Workshop 5 – Audience with MLA – 8.30am – 10.00am – Facilitated roundtable on “what good looks like” – two way feedback session on delivery in projects to achieve better alignment. *Good session for Chairs to attend.

Break – 10.00am – 10.30am

Workshop 6 – Audience with GRDC – 10.30am – 12.00pm – Facilitated roundtable on “what good looks like” – two way feedback session on delivery in R&D projects to achieve better alignment. *Good session for Chairs to attend.

Lunch – 12.00pm – 1.00pm

Workshop 7 – Stakeholder Management Plan (Part 2)– 1.00pm – 2.00pm Facilitated session developing your groups 2023 stakeholder relationship management plans. You will leave the session with a near/complete plan.

Break – 2.00pm – 2.30pm

Workshop 8 – GGA Briefings – 2.30 – 3.15pm – Based on feedback from our member survey, groups are keen for a run through of the Farmanco In-kind Opportunity, a briefing of the new member login section of GGA website and our 2023 Capacity Building Program.
